Democratic Candidate for IL Attorney General
Jesse Ruiz has earned a reputation throughout Illinois as an outstanding attorney, a tireless volunteer, and a stalwart champion of the rights of children and minorities. The son of Mexican immigrants, Jesse was born and raised in Roseland, a working-class neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side. Jesse was a scholarship student at the University of Illinois, and then went on to law school at the University of Chicago, where he studied under Barack Obama. In his two decades as a high-profile attorney, Jesse has devoted countless hours to public service, including stints as chairman of the Illinois State Board of Education and vice president of the Chicago Board of Education. Jesse lives on the South Side of Chicago with his wife and their two sons. If elected, Jesse would be the first Latino Attorney General of Illinois.
