Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a pioneer and an advocate who inspired generations through his commitment to love and people. His dream of empowerment and inclusion is a notion that we are still fighting for, even today. To mark today's occasion, we announce our DE&I honorees.

Many thanks for your nominations, all representing amazing individuals who are truly dedicated to the very important mission of diversity, equality and inclusion. Congratulations to this year's DE&I honorees! The brief paragraphs below represent a very small portion of their contributions.
Jonathan Chaparro
Jonathan Chaparro, Founding Chicago Site Director, Braven

Jonathan creates and manages innovative, shared-value partnerships with higher education institutions to equip college students, especially those who are first-generation and low-income, with the skills and mindsets necessary to land strong jobs. Since launching Braven’s Chicago region in 2018, he has been instrumental in expanding access to job opportunities for 350 first-generation college students and students of color, including 229 Latinx students.
Jasmin Zamora, Communications and Community Relations Program Manager, Combined Insurance

At her nearly five-year career at Combined Insurance, Jasmin has led the company to inclusion of multicultural talent and communities through work across D&I programs, community involvement, and public relations. Jasmin’s work represents the efforts and key wins that result from employee-driven programming, engagement, and leadership buy-in.
As part of our year-long celebration, we are recognizing the professionals and entrepreneurs who make up CLN. For ten months, we will highlight two individuals per month, for a total of 20 leaders, representing various categories. These CLNers will also be honored at our 20th Anniversary Gala in October!

We continue with the Latinx Entrepreneur category. Nominations will be accepted for an entrepreneur whose venture has experienced significant growth and shows long-term potential. The entrepreneur should note contributions to the community through charitable and/or leadership roles. Nominations are due on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. The two honorees will be announced on Monday, February 24, 2020.

Nominations must include an MS Word or PDF document containing a brief nominating statement (250 to 300 words), the nominee's résumé, and a high-resolution headshot of the nominee to info@ChicagoLatinoNetwork.com. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
