The Chicago Latino Network will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month during its 5th Annual Awards Gala, which celebrates in a unique manner the contributions that Chicago Latinos have made to the community. The Chicago Latino Network, founded in 1999, currently reaches over 46,000 acculturated Latinos, an untapped niche market of early influencers.

For four years this gala has sold-out and included speakers such as Henry Cisneros, Executive Chairman, CityView; Fernando Espuelas, President & CEO, VOY, LLC; Monica Gadsby, CEO, SMG Multicultural; Maria Marin, author, radio host, national newspaper columnist; Arturo S. Rodriguez, President, United Farm Workers of America (UFW); U.S. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-CA); and Juan Tornoe, Executive Vice President of Hispanic Trending.

This year, the black-tie gala is scheduled for Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Drake Hotel.

The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of HACIA’s professional service consulting agreements with for the Minority Contractor Training Programs. This person will ensure that deliverables are being met, prepares and submits invoices and reports. This individual will also be the primary point of contact for recruitment and responsible for sub-consultant management and client relationships. This Individual will contact HACIA Members and outside companies as required by contractual obligations and will attend meetings as needed and keep record of such meetings.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize and to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • High level of organization, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

    Rogers Park Business Alliance
    Special Service Area (SSA) Program Manager

    Rogers Park Business Alliance seeks a bilingual (Spanish), bi-cultural Special Service Area (SSA) Program Manager for the Clark/Morse/Glenwood SSA#24. SSA #24 is a taxing district established to provide services to the commercial district that the city does not normally provide. Such programs include daily sidewalk cleaning, joint merchant promotion, beautification and greening, holiday banners, and much more. Rogers Park Business Alliance is the administrator of these programs and a Commission of local stakeholders appointed by the Mayor oversees the SSA and the use of its funds.

    Responsibilities of the Commercial District Strategic Planner/SSA Manager
    The individual will report to the Managing Director and is responsible for implementing and managing the various programs of the SSA as well as acting as staff to the Commission. This person will also oversee other Rogers Park Business Alliance activities related to SSA #24. Primary responsibilities include: Qualifications
    Native-level Spanish fluency (both written and spoken) required. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in planning, community development, or related experience that would provide a strong substitute is required. At least two to five years of experience in a similar field is preferred. Strong written, verbal and word processing skills and the willingness and ability to attend some early morning/night meetings needed.

    Salary and Benefits
    Annual salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include flexible work schedule, health insurance, 2 weeks paid vacation, sick leave, personal leave, 10 paid holidays per year. Supportive and friendly work environment.
