Alivio Medical Center received the
prestigious
Richard and Hinda Rosenthal Foundation Award
from
the American College of Physicians (ACP) for its
original approach in the delivery of
healthcare.
Carmen Velásquez, Executive Director of
Alivio Medical
Center, accepted the award on behalf of the
center at
the ACP's annual convocation ceremony in
Washington DC. The Richard and Hinda Rosenthal
Foundation Award, which was established in
1976, is
given to an individual or organization whose
recent
original approach in the delivery of health
care or in the
design of facilities for its delivery will
increase its
clinical and/or economic effectiveness.
Luis M. Gutierrez has been promoted to
Lieutenant with the Illinois State Police and
is the
Deputy Chief for the Northern Public Information
Office. Lt. Gutierrez is also the immediate
past
President of the Hispanic Illinois State Law
Enforcement Association (HISLEA) and a
graduate of
the 2007 Metropolitan Leadership
Institute.
Jacky Priego accepted the position of
Coordinator of Client Services in the corporate
partnerships department for the Chicago White
Sox.

Citizenship Instructor
Instituto del Progreso Latino is a community
organization whose mission is to contribute
to the
fullest development of Latino(a) immigrants
and their
families through education, training and

in 1975 to help Latino's learn basis skills,

Position Description:
Under the supervision of the Citizenship Program
Director, the Citizenship instructor is
responsible for
developing and imparting classes and
implementing
and designing curriculum based activities.
These are
geared to improve the students' English language
competencies and US history knowledge
sufficiently to
enable them to pass the citizenship exam.
Students
should also be able to understand the rights and
responsibilities of citizenship.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present citizenship materials
according to curriculum guidelines, including
preparation and submittal of lesson plans.
- Administer and grade exams.
- Keep accurate attendance records in daily
sign-in
sheets and classroom record.
- Identify students who need further
tutoring and
refer them to the Citizenship office.
- Identify and document students who have
passed
the citizenship exam.
- Attend necessary training send by immediate
supervisor.
- Attend monthly program meetings as
needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned by

Qualifications:

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the
nation's leading advocacy organization for
children's
healthcare, seeks a customer service focused
individual with excellent communication
skills to take
on this excellent opportunity in our
Department of
Information Technology.
Reporting to the Director, Division of
Network Services
and Technical Support this individual will
maintain the
AAP telephony systems and peripherals
including CTI,
voice and data; provide AAP staff with
first-line
telephone support; evaluate and propose for
consideration future telephony requirements
including
emerging technologies such as VoIP; act as an
extensive technical resource to all
Divisional and
Departmental staff with regard to all
telecommunication systems within the
enterprise; and
negotiate and manage all telecommunication
agreements.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's
degree in
Computer Science or equivalent (Cisco CCNA
certification or equivalent highly
desirable), at least five
years experience and training in the
telephony field,
and thorough knowledge of configuring and
managing
Avaya PBX and voice mail systems (with
particular
importance to Definity G3si and AUDIX). Formal
training in understanding network infrastructure
components, configuration of VoIP systems, and
interrelationships of voice and data networks
is highly
desirable. Candidates should have experience in
Computer Telephony Integration, Interactive
Voice
Response, and Customer Resource Management. In
addition, an understanding of computer
networking
fundamentals, including systems and applications
architecture is desirable.
