The
Daily Herald and Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn have
endorsed
Anita Alvarez for Cook County
State's Attorney. "Anita has demonstrated the
leadership skills needed to make change occur,
having run the special prosecutions bureau for more
than six years and led the prosecution for some of the
agency's most prominent cases...None of the other
candidates, however, brings the composite of
experience, credibility and leadership that Alvarez
represents. She can bring real change -- and the right
change."
The
Chicago Sun Times calls Anita "an
outstanding candidate."
Anita is the first woman and Latina to run for Cook
County State's Attorney.

FEBRUARY
GIVEAWAY
Dinner for two (2) at Charlie Trotter's
on Valentine's Day (Thursday, February 14, 2008)
(value $500)
Regarded by many as the pinnacle of American
cooking, Charlie Trotter's enjoys as much
international
renown as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the
Bulls basketball team. The chef's aim is to synthesize
European traditionalism with Asian minimalism and
American ingenuity. Trotter--named 1999 James
Beard Foundation Chef of the Year--expresses this
most effectively in his degustation menus. The
elegant dining room is in a Lincoln Park brownstone
built circa 1900 and renovated in the Viennese
Biedermeier style--clean lines, crisp angles and
understated colors.
The winner of this e-raffle will receive a gift certificate
of $500 value to Charlie Trotter's. Dinner reservation
is confirmed for Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 5:30
p.m.

e-raffle. Winner will be announced on Monday,
February 11, 2008. Click

EARLY VOTING ENDS
THURSDAY, JANUARY 31, 2008!
Avoid long lines and possible bad weather!
The primary in Illinois will be the earliest ever. For the
first time in 80 years, the White House race is wide
open with no incumbent president or vice president
seeking the nomination. Chicago and suburban Cook
voters will see a super-sized ballot (one of the largest
in the nation with offices from the White House to the
statehouse -- plus judges, party delegates and local
officials). It's coming together sooner than you
think, and you need to know about
Early
Voting
as a way to avoid the possibility of bad weather or long
lines on February 5, 2008.
